Fiery Christmas: How to make your fire set up Christmassy

When the weather’s getting chilly, the warming glow of a fire and the festive period are the perfect fit. A fire can be the cherry on top of a brilliant Christmas, but there are still some ways to make things extra festive. Here are some of our top tips for making your fireplace or fire pit extra Christmassy.

Add decorations

Adding decorations to your fireplace is a great way to infuse some Christmas spirit into your home. Keep things simple with some foraged foliage and dried berries and fruits, along with all the Christmas cards you get through the post. On top of that, some cute fairy lights can be the perfect finishing touch, allowing you to dim the lights and create a uniquely festive atmosphere. Also - it can be all too easy to go overboard when it comes to decorating your living room during the festive period. Overdecorating can put each individual decoration out of sight, so make sure to keep things simple. Stick with those bright, bold festive colours and you’ll have the cosiest Christmas space around. Remember though - always make sure you put safety first when decorating the area around your fireplace.

Up the heat

Nothing says Christmas like a comforting heat from your fireplace while the snow starts falling outside. However, if you want the best fire, you’ll need the best fuel. Our Kiln-Dried Firewood is dried to a moisture level of less than 20%, in order to lower smoke emissions and create a more powerful heat. Our Smokeless Coal is another great choice for fireplaces, lasting longer than traditional coal on top of being sustainably sourced and produced. Not only does that mean you’ll be getting up less after Christmas dinner to add fuel, but you’ll also be experiencing a more comforting and warm heat from your fireplace.

Consider an outside fire pit

While it may be getting colder by the day during Christmas time, that doesn’t mean you should spend all your time indoors. With a communal fire pit in the back garden, you have the opportunity to spend time outside with the family without being cold to the bone. We suggest arranging some chairs around the pit space and making some warming mulled wine beforehand. In terms of the actual fire, our fire pit bundle is the perfect place to get started, offering you a sustainable yet powerful fire pit that can last deep into the evening. Even so - it’s still worth wrapping up warm!

There’s nothing like cosying up in front of the fire after Christmas dinner. On top of providing strong heat, all of our firewood is sustainably sourced from renewable Latvian forests. Take a look through our collection today.
