Ecoal
Low CO2 smokeless coal for open fires and multi-fuel stoves
Homefire Ecoal produces less smoke, less C02, and more heat and lasts longer than coal or wood.
It is made using crushed olive stones, a natural waste product from olive oil production, which is replenished every year without chopping down trees.
This smokeless eco fuel is easy to light and long-lasting and burns with an attractive flame.
Ecoal has been designed for open fires and multi-fuel stoves, where its larger hexagonal shape (75 x 40mm) promotes airflow resulting in attractive flames and loads of heat. Thanks to its high and sustained heat output, burning Ecoal can work out cheaper than burning house coal or kiln-dried firewood because individual bags are more expensive, you use less for the same heat.

As opposed to the more traditional form of coal, smokeless coal offers superior performance and longevity. Here’s how you use Homefire Ecoal smokeless coal on your fire:
- Make sure your combustion chamber is free of any existing debris or soot from your last fire by cleaning it thoroughly.
- Place firelighters and kindling in the area where you will start your fire and burn the firelighters; this will generate small flames to begin with.
- Pour a generous amount of Ecoal smokeless coal on top of the other components to make your fire stronger. Spread the briquettes evenly across the area.
- Add more coals if your fire starts to dwindle a little, or spread the coals further.
- Let the embers die out completely before attempting to clean your fire area afterwards so you prevent any injuries.
Smokeless coal is a great way to enjoy a strong and long-lasting fire. Have a look at our entire range so you can get started.
