It depends on the specific look and feel you want to achieve. The Quartzite Pea 10mm is smaller and creates a very neat, compact, and tidy surface that is comfortable to walk on. However, for high-traffic paths or areas where stones might easily scatter, the Quartzite Pea 20mm consists of larger pebbles that shift less, providing a highly stable and even surface across any garden setting.

Absolutely. All of our decorative aggregates, including our Cotswold Chippings (14–26mm) and slate ranges, naturally supporting excellent surface drainage. They allow rainwater to pass through easily into the ground beneath, which prevents pooling and helps keep your soil hydrated without becoming waterlogged. This makes them ideal for sustainable, low-maintenance garden layouts.

To ensure your stones stay put and look neat for years to come, we highly recommend preparing the area first. Remove existing weeds, level the ground, and lay down a heavy-duty, water-permeable weed membrane. This allows water to drain freely while preventing weeds from growing up through the stones and stops your Cotswold Stone or slate from sinking into the natural soil below.
